Really nice post. It is so true that while we can get tangled up in second guessing how something may fail, talk ourselves out of it etc, this is about the ego. When we let go of the part that is "about us" and focus instead on what we are trying to accomplish, the path clears up to our goal. My work as a child psychologist is to train parents to understand this for themselves, so that they can then teach good thinking habits for their kids...e.g., where kids are focused on intrinsic value of their goal or intention rather than just focusing on the grade, the win, or what it will get them. I talk about these ideas in my latest book, Freeing Your Child from Negative Thinking: Powerful, Practical Strategies to Build a Lifetime of Resilience, Flexibility and Happiness. I believe that starting these habits early not only buffers kids from depression, but will encourage children to live more fully in their potential, freer from fear and discouragement. We all stand to gain from that!

I've never heard it said better. Everyone is presented with numerous opportunities throughout their lives for health, relationships, financial success, etc. Sadly, the vast majority of people don't have enough belief in themselves to take advantage of the opportunities and don't take consistent and persistent action to achieve their goals.

I have to admit that I too have been guilty of that at times. This post is extremely valuable to me and I'll share it with others and recommend your book, even before I've read it! Thank you!

The Secret movie was an awesome example of how the law of attraction can summon the universal powers to manifest people situations and material things into your life.

All of the presenters had compelling stories that described in detail how their lives changed once they applied the secret principals.

I watched the movie several times only to discover the secret was never revealed nor did they explain how to actually make the law of attraction work in your favor.

I searched for a year and finally discovered exactly how the secret law of attraction works.

Anybody can put the principals to work for them and change their life dramatically in a short period of time.

It’s true, they are laws and they work all the time but its your choice to make them work for you and not against you.

"Make an effort to do one thing, like e-mailing a networking contact or attending an event – that moves you a bit closer to your big picture goal."

I agree with this! I usually apply this in my personal life in every aspect and not give up, it's important to not give up! :)

Hi Joy,

Couldn't agree more with what you blogged per Alexandra Levitn's book. It's all about following one's passions...testing the waters in a safe, mentored environment....and then taking the "leap", but only after a lot of knowledge, experience and personal/professional due diligence has been gained. By that point it's not such a leap but a natural, incremental step towards one's dream work.

All my best,
